French President Emmanuel Macron Tries to Meme, Fails

French president Emmanuel Macron released an edited White House video that taunts the United States for leaving the Paris Agreement. This follows his other attempts to meme the United States’ exit of the Paris Agreement into political points for himself. His unoriginal and stale propaganda is a national embarrassment to France.

Macron has been in office for just over two weeks. The globalist favorite and hand-picked successor to socialist Francois Holland beat the nationalist Marine Le Pen and assumed office on May 14.

France faces tremendous domestic challenges, many of which are a direct result of the “migrant crisis” manufactured by Angela Merkel and European Union social engineers. Rather than address those challenges with action, Emmanuel Macron has chosen to pick a losing meme battle with the United States as his first major step as president of France.

Macron appears unable to form an original political message or policy on his own. On policy, Macron has already surrendered French policy to Angela Merkel and agreed to follow her in a “common road map for Europe.” On messaging, Macron has now shown that he is only capable of weak satire and unoriginal propaganda.

Make our planet great again

His first attempt to meme the Paris Agreement into political points came on June 1, when he tweeted “Make our planet great again,” an obvious hijacking of Trump’s campaign slogan.

It is a national embarrassment to France that their 39-year-old president thinks this meme is still fresh. President Trump officially adopted the phrase in June 2015 and not a day went by in the election season without someone, somewhere using the Make X Great Again meme. Even the /r/le_pen subreddit put a French spin on it long before Macron with “Make France Great Again.”

The Hijacked White House Video

Macron didn’t stop there. Yesterday Macron released a hijacked version of the White House’s video explaining why the Paris Agreement was a bad deal for America.

The original video gives each reason its own scene consisting of a few seconds of text and animation. Macron’s video takes each scene and duplicates it afterwards with parts of the original graphic erased and scribbled over in a red, handwritten font that can only be described as Comic Sans-esque.

Macron: What France Deserves

France has made their bed and now they have to lie in it. By rejecting the Front National candidate Marine Le Pen at such a critical turning point, it was certain that France would be sold out and left to the mercy of globalist policy.

What was not clear was how much of a tone-deaf, petulant child they got in Macron.

With this publicity stunt, Macron has not only embarrassed himself and his country, he’s also made a permanent enemy out of Trump for very little political gain. The public will quickly forget whatever cheap points Macron may have scored with them, but this will impact American-French diplomacy for at least eight years.

And if one thing is certain, it’s that France needs the United States more than the United States needs it.
